Aunt Liz came to visit and the girls were delighted, especially Olivia. They had a blast dancing, playing, swimming, and taking pictures on Liz's computer (Olivia's new obsession.) We always have so much fun when Liz comes, Olivia is already ready for her visit again!

4 Months
Some of Lyla's favorite things at 4 months:
- Her new favorite game is playing peek-a-boo
- Olivia...Lyla adores Olivia. She is always laughing and smiling when her sister is near.
- Sucking on her fingers-specifically the ring and middle finer on her left hand. This has actually become my favorite thing as well. Sometimes in the middle of the night I will hear Lyla wake up and then I will immediately hear her begin to suck on her fingers and drift back to sleep. This new habit has allowed everyone to have a better nights sleep. :)
Fun with the Lamberts
We were lucky enough to have Sam, Jessica and Ella come out and visit us for a while. Olivia had been counting down the days for the arrival of her cousin. While they were with us the weather was quite cold and so Lyla and I weren't able to join any of their city adventures.
Ella introduced Olivia to the wonderful world of barbies while she was here and Olivia has been talking about barbies ever since.
Lyla enjoyed the visitors as well.
The girls had fun singing, dancing and playing. We all enjoyed their company and we were sad to see them head back to Utah.

Lyla's blessing

Matthew gave Lyla a wonderful blessing, she was quiet the entire time. She was lucky enough to have my parents, Matt's parents and my sister's family be apart of this special day. I had always planned on having all my girls wear the same blessing dress, but even though Lyla was a month younger than Olivia was when she was blessed, Olivia's dress was way too small for her...I guess Lyla wanted her own dress.

3 Months

Lyla...-is the happiest baby! Everything and anything seems to make her laugh and smile. A few of my favorites are her continuous giggling while I bounce her on my knee. Her huge grin whenever I rub lotion on her face. How her eyes light up and a big smile spreads across her face whenever I whisper to her. How she laughs and smiles while I read books, like she somehow understands the funny parts of the story.
-continues to talk and talk and talk. Today Lyla and I almost had to leave Relief Society because she was drowning out the teacher. Lyla can say "hi", I'm sure she doesn't realize what she is saying, but she can say "hi" clear as a bell and we love it!

2 Months
2 months...
-Lyla is such a happy and sweet baby. She has the biggest brightest smile, and she loves to show it to us. Unfortunately it is very difficult to get a picture of her smiling. As soon as I get my camera out, the big black thing covering my face is much more interesting than smiling.
-Lyla is a big talker, she coos and just carries on a little conversation with you. Her talking is always accompanied by a big grin, you can tell she is so proud of herself. We are all captivated by her little conversations, Matt, Olivia and I love to huddle around her and listen to what she has to say.
-Lyla LOVES to read books. She doesn't just sit back and listen, she is a very active participant. Some pages will make her smile, some make her laugh and some make her kick her legs with great excitement.

Sisters
Olivia absolutely adores Lyla. She is always smothering Lyla with hugs and kisses, and there isn't a day that passes that I don't hear Olivia say "I love you more than anything Lyla!" Although Lyla isn't able to verbalize it, I can tell she adores her sister too. Lyla always perks up when she hears her sister's voice and she happily accepts all the hugs and kisses, even the ones that may be a little too tight and a little too long.

One Month

Today Lyla is one month old!
At one month Lyla:
-Loves to sleep. I realize that this could all change, but for now Lyla likes to sleep. She sleeps a lot during the day (Olivia calls her a sleepyhead) and she has done 7 hour stretches at night. :)
-Loves to eat. At her last doctor's appointment, the doctor told us that Lyla has gained 2 pounds in the last 2 weeks, pushing her into the 97% for weight and size 3-6 months clothes.
-Loves baths. She has liked to take a bath from her very first sponge bath.
-Lyla is VERY calm. Matt was concerned that she never cries and wanted me to talk to the doctor about it. Lyla didn't even mind getting a shot while she was in the hospital.
-Lyla smiles. Yesterday she gave me her first real smile. I like to think that she was smiling because she was enjoying my singing of "Pop goes the weasel" while bouncing her on my knee; however, it may have been the lamp (she absolutely loves) which was directly behind me that prompted the smile.
-Lyla is very noisy. She is the loudest grunter, and has mastered many unusual animal noises.

Lyla Elizabeth
I can't believe have fast time flies, Lyla is already 3 weeks old. Lyla is not awake very much during the day, so it is kind of hard to get pictures of her, but recently I've tried to keep my camera handy whenever she's awake.
Visitors
We have been lucky enough to have some visitors since Lyla was born. Grandma Mary, Grandfather and Grandmother have been nice enough to make the trek out to New York. Grandmother has already been the most frequent visitor, but somehow I have not gotten a photo of her and Lyla, luckily I'm have another opportunity when she is here in 2 weeks.
