Snow

We have been getting a lot of snow here and Olivia has enjoyed being outside and playing. We have built a snowman, made snow angels and went sledding on a trashcan lid. Those activities didn't excite Olivia too much, her favorite things to do were to watch the older kids play in the snow, talk about snowmen that other people built and probably her favorite activity was eating the snow.

I wanted to take a picture of Olivia next to the snowman we had built, but each time I sat her down next to the snowman she fell backwards...I guess that's a result of wearing so many layers.

Olivia was able to play in the snow with her friend Madelyn, they really had fun eating snow togther.

Hiding

Olivia loves to hide and loves for us to try and find her. She used to always hide in the curtains, but now she has started to find some new and exciting hiding places...behind our bed, in the closet behind our clothes, but she found a new one a couples of weeks ago....

Olivia was organizing the CDs, which she enjoys doing every day and I left the room to put something away and when I came back she had found a new spot.

A day in the life of doll

"A day in the life of doll" as narrated by Olivia.

Olivia grabbed her doll and put a scarf on her and said "bye bye"

I asked Olivia where her doll was going. She said "work"

I asked her where her doll works, she explained to me that her doll drove a school bus to take the kids to school.

After trying to decide if she should take her doll to work in a car seat or stroller, she opted for the stroller and headed into the hall to take her doll to work.

After her doll was done working, Olivia told me her doll needed to take a nap. After a very short nap she told me that she needed to get some food for her doll.

I asked Olivia what food she needed for her doll and she told me "hummus and bananas."

...and that was the end of her doll's day!

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day

Olivia has been really looking forward to Valentine's Day. We made valentine's decorations and Olivia would always reenact making the decorations when anyone mentioned the work heart or Valentine's Day. She would get so excited and run over to the exact spot she had colored the decorations and say "draw, draw!" and point to the decorations she had made.

After church we decorated Valentine's cookies. Olivia had a great time. She was in charge of dyeing the frosting and of course decorating the cookies. I was surprised that Olivia just sat there decorating her cookies without even attempting to lick the frosting or eat anything. Then a little frosting got on her lip and she realized that this was not just an art project, but what she had in her hands was very tasty. After that she was excited to lick the frosting off her cookies.
